WHICH ISLAM?

Any serious student of Islam has a duty to investigate and find the
true Islam. The only two authentic sources which bind every Muslim
are 1. the Quran and 2. authentic or sound Hadith. Any teachings under
the label of "Islam" which contradict or at variance with the direct
understanding of fundamental beliefs and practices of Islam form the
Quran and authentic Hadith should be rejected and such a religion
should be considered a Pseudo-Islamic Cult. In America there are many
pseudo-Islamic cults, Farrakhanism being one of them. An honest
attitude on the part of such cults should be not to call themselves
Muslims and their religion Islam. such an example of honesty is
Bahaism which is an off-shoot of Islam but Bahais do not call
themseles Muslims nor their religion, Islam. In fact Bahaism is notIslam just as Farrakhanism is not Islam.

Brad's Factoid of The Day

4/10/11 "Don't Call Me A Birdbrain"

If somebody calls U a "birdbrain", they may not necessarily B insulting U.  While most birds R pretty dim, some kinds of birds R quite intelligent.  Studies of Corvidae (crows, ravens, jays, magpies) & Psittaciformes (parrots & their relatives) indicate that these birds have high levels of intelligence, comparing favorably with most mammal species.

4/8/11 "Dinos For Dinner"

During the Dinosaur Age, some species of crocodile attained lengths of 40-50 feet. These crocs often preyed on dinosaurs drinking at streamsides and waterholes.

Round Table Discussion "GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN"

Government Shutdown

The closure of non-essential offices of the government due to lack of approval on the government programs budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Approval is reached if Congress passes all of the spending bills regarding the federal budget. If an agreement is not achieved, a government shutdown will close many federally run operations, and halt work for federal employees unless they are considered essential. Some organizations still stay open by running on cash reserves, but once these run out, if a solution is not found, they will also close. The shutdown stays in effect until a compromise is reached and a budget bill is passed.

Why live in a democratic society if you don't fight against the opposition? We lay down like dogs and let them do as they please. It's our fundamental right to not agree or put up with how our govt is handled

This debate is based on ideology instead of fiscal discipline. The Republicans (Tea Party) want to get rid of programs that are vital to the lower middle class and poor. Such as medicare, medicaid, social security, food stamps, education, pell grants, plan parenthood, environmental protection agency, IRS, NPR, PBS, etc. Remember the extension of the Bush tax cuts in December? Well this is how the Republicans are going to pay for them. Off the backs of the middle class and poor. Look at what is happening in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida etc. The Governors of those states want to get ride of Collective Bargaining. They say its about the budget. Yeah there are states that have their fiscal issues, but this is a ploy to destroy the unions because the unions are the main contributors of the Democratic party. What is happening in DC is happening in your states. Don't be fooled. This is also a redistribution of wealth to the top 1.10%. The ones who contribute to their campaigns. So what does tax cuts for the rich have anything to do with being fiscally discipline?

    • Damon Brian Long Yes Sir. You Know What Bothers Me is The Idea to Fund Planned Parenthood is Actually Richard Nixon idea & it was already included in the bill that none of the Money Was to be Allocated to Abortion. The Govt only Gives Them 75 Million a Year. That's Less Than 1% of the Overall Budget. We Gonna Shut Government Down over That? Makes no Sense & it Just Smells of Racism to me

As a former servicewoman i think this is ludacris! I have talked to ppl still in the service that will not get paid this upcoming paycheck or they are aonly getting paid for 2 weeks worth of work! I just dont understand how you would stop the pay of families that are out their husabnds or wives because they are fighting these senseless wars. How can you stand there and say you are for 'the people' and you are only concerned about 'planned parenthood'??? Now I know there are other issues but comeon.. they dont care if the shutdown stops their paycheck b/c just about 90% of them are already millionaires. They forget about everyone else who is on a federal payroll who struggles to feed their family. Budget my a$$, this is the worse thing they did since invading Iraq! I got it, go to George W. for a refund of the trillions that was spent on invading Iraq. Better yet, go to these banks or car dealerships that we bailed out and get all of our money back PLUS interest! Hey that's just a dream because we all know that the war and the bank bailouts kept all 'them' afloat while the middle class suffered!
