Brad Holway U R right. This only means planets that R habitable by life as WE know it. It is concievable that life based on completely different forms of chemistry could exist in radically different environments.

Brad Holway Life may have arisen under several circumstances: (1) in the "primordial soup", as was theorized when I was a kid, (2) in the vicinity of "black smokers" on the ocean bottom, (3) in caves, where microorganisms exist w/o light & metabolize rocks! ....& these may not b the ONLY sources!

Taalib Muhammad Nothing else out there? No other life forms? Only on this tiny little planet in this tiny little solar system? There are BILLIONS of life forms on this planet alone. To conclude/assume that in the vastness of the universe/galaxy...only one planet has life...sounds like myopic reasoning to me.
